General
Specification of Second Class Buildings
Foundation and Plinth. Foundation and Plinth shall be of Ist Class work
laid mud mortar over a bed of lime
concrete or cement concrete .Top course of plinth shall be of brick on edge
laid in cement mortar 1:6
Superstructure :- All walls shall be built of first class brick
work laid in mud mortar except the
following portions which are to be built in cement mortar 1:6
(1)Sills of windows, C.windows
(2) Back of almirahs
(3) jambs of doors,windows and
almirahs Drip course, cornice and weather course, etc.
Damp proof course. D.P.C 4 cm thick
cement concrete (1:2;4) shall be provided with one coat of bitumen laid hot.
Roofing. All
main rooms shall be provided with R.B. roof or R.C.C roof and other
rooms with I class or II class mud roofs.
Flooring. Conglomerate flooring
4 cm thick 1:2:4 shall be
provided in main rooms and other rooms and verandahs shall be provided with
flat or brick on edge flooring.
Doors and windows. Doors and windows shall be
of well seasoned deodar wood. Shutters shall
be of deodar wood or shisham wood 4 cm thick panelled or panelled and glazed fitted with iron fittings..
Finishing. Inside and outside walls shall be plastered 12 mm
thick covered with three coats of white washing
Painting. Doors and windows shall be
painted two coats with of any approved paint over one coat of priming.
Miscellaneous. Rain water pipe shall be of cast iron. Plinth
protection 1 meter wide of bricks shall be provided around the building.

Painting. Doors and windows shall be painted two coats with ordinary paint.
