Application Instructions
Substrate Preparation (Base Plate Grouting)
- The substrate needs to be solid, sturdy, and devoid of any loose debris, dust, or dirt. There should be no rust, oil, grease, or other impurities on the base plate’s underside that could prevent the bond from working. The foundation and base plate should have a minimum of 10 mm of space between them. Make sure the surface is completely dry and free of any moisture before beginning the grouting process.
Shuttering/Formwork
- To stop grout loss, the molding that is installed around the base plate needs to be strong and waterproof. At least 25 mm should separate the top of the formwork from the base plate’s bottom level.
- To allow a head of grout to develop up, the formwork on the pouring side (which should be the shortest distance along the base plate) needs to be at least 150mm high.
- To get rid of air pockets during the grouting process, the grout head needs to be reached constantly. Make sure the grouting process runs continuously and without breaks.
- On the pouring side, the gap between the base plate and the formwork is often kept between 100 and 150 mm, whereas on the opposite side, it is 50 mm.
Mixing of the materials
- As directed by the manufacturer, mix the materials well for one minute using a slow-speed drill (400–600 rpm) and a mixing paddle. It is best practice to shake the materials before using them. Air can entrain after a prolonged mixing time.
Pouring the non-shrink grout materials
- Make sure there is enough grout mix available and prepared for the job. Before putting, let the blended grout stand for five minutes.
- Why it is important to maintain a continuous grout flow and how it helps prevent air pockets.
- Because there will be more chances for air to become trapped if the application is stopped, and voids will fill the area, increasing the likelihood of cracks developing when the gear runs.
- Grouting between the base plate and substrate can only be completed after the bolt pockets have been filled. It is imperative that grout flow continuously to avoid the formation of air pockets. Make sure the grout overflows to release any trapped air at the other end of the formwork.

Safety precautions
- It is important to take the following safety measures when applying and mixing: Make sure there is enough airflow, and keep the material away from the mouth, nose, eyes, and exposed skin. Put on safety gloves to prevent hand contact, and use an appropriate barrier cream if needed.
How to clean up any excess grout that overflows during the pouring process.
- Water can be used right away after usage to remove materials off instruments and equipment. It will be necessary to mechanically remove any hardened material or get advice from the producers.
